Learning to Read, Reading to Learn

Reading Success: Evaluation & Systematic Progression

All services begin with a phone consultation with Mrs. Nancy. During this conversation, you may decide to move forward with services through The Center for Reading. Both the psycho-educational testing and the reading therapy classes (whether individual or as a group) will require the one-hour quick assessment and conference. You will book your appointment for the one-hour quick assessment through Mrs. Nancy.

Reading therapy classes do not require a dyslexia diagnosis. If your child is reading below grade level, you are welcome to take advantage of our classes.

One-Hour quick assessment

If you are really on the fence about whether your child has dyslexia or may just be a few levels behind in reading, this is a great option for you. Our Certified Academic Language Therapist will conduct a few quick, research-based assessments with your child and then visit with you regarding an individualized plan of action.

Reading therapy Classes

We use the Take Flight curriculum designed by the Luke Waite’s Center for Dyslexia & Learning Disorders | Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. Students can received individual tutoring ($60/hr), or, for a discounted cost, can complete the therapy with two to four others.

Classes run mid-August to mid-May and follow Legacy Classical’s academic calendar regarding holidays. On average, classes are for 55-minutes, three times per week.

Cost is based on paying monthly for 10 months.

$60/Hour - one-on-one

$450/month - group

$225/month - Legacy student group

pyscho-educational diagnostic testing

This testing will render a verdict regarding your child’s reading ability. It is official paperwork completed by a diagnostician and should be considered appropriate documentation for school districts and other educational institutions.
